High-Performance ZnAl27Cu2 Alloy – Grade G, Heat Treated for 120 °C Applications
The material ZnAl27Cu2, a fine zinc block metal alloy acc. to ASTM B 669, german marking ZA 27, is used with the transition coming from malleable cast iron or cast iron with nodular graphite, brass or bronze, where it depends on highest strength and strain. ZA 27 is the best alloy for operatings temperature to 120 °C. The alloy is pressure tight, even in thin cross sections. Where however highest pressure tight ones is necessary, the alloys ZnAl8 or ZnAl12 should be considered. The material is excellently machinable and on high polish sharpening and polishingable. The alloy is used mainly for sand and ingot casting, in addition, for pressure casting on cold chamber machines.
