EN 10250-4 Grade X6Cr17 – Soft Annealed Ferritic Steel for Corrosion Resistance
The make X6Cr17 is comparable to X 6 Cr 17 acc. to DIN 17440 : 1985-07. The material is a ferritic steel (17% Cr). Largely resistant in water, steam, low acids and bases and in oxidizing acids (e.g. nitrous acid). As cold rolled sheet for washing machines and kitchen parts, canteens, facings, trim strips, bumper, wheel caps, in food and nitrous acid industry. Favorable deep draw and polishability for unwelded parts. In construction trade for decorative construction parts, e.g. for racks and furniture frames, safe deposit boxes, signs. A metallic clean surface is basic requirement for favorable corrosion resistance. X6Cr17 is applicated cold rolled resp. ground or polished. Resistance to intercrystalline corrosion in delivery condition but not in welded condition.
