EN 10088‑1 Grade X6Cr17 Soft‑Annealed (+A) – Premium Ferritic Steel for Food & Chemical Applications
Material X6Cr17 is comparable to X 6 Cr 17 acc. to DIN 17440 : 1985-07. This material is a ferritic steel (17% Cr), largely resistant in water, steam, weak acids and bases, oxidizing acids (e.g. nitric acid). As a cold rolled sheet used for washing machines and kitchen parts, silverware, facings, trim strips, bumper, hub caps, in food and nitric acid industry. Good deep drawing and burnishing suitabiliy for non welded parts. Application temperature up to 300 °C (for the comparable DIN-material). X6Cr17 is applicated in construction trade for decorative components, such as racks and furniture frames, safe deposit boxes, signs. A metallic clean surface represents a basic requirement for a good corrosion resistance. X6Cr17 is applicated cold rolled resp. ground or polished. Resistance to intercrystalline corrosion in delivery corrosion but not in welded condition. The material is acc. to DIN EN 10095 : 1999-05 allowed to be used as heat resistant steel.
