EN 1652 CuSn6 Grade O60 – High-Performance Tin-Copper Alloy
CuSn6, mat. No. CW425K, is comparable to the DIN-make CuSn6, mat. No. 2.1020, acc. to DIN 17662 : 1983-12. Properties of the CuSn-alloy are predominantly determined by the tin-content. Tensile strength, yield point and hardness increase according to the rising cold forming grade, elongation after fracture decreases. Electrical and thermal conductivity are lower than for pure copper. Very high resistance to corrosion, particularly to atmospheric influences, seawater, sulfite liquor, carbonated and salted mine water. The alloys are stress corrosion-proof. Processing properties: warm forming: medium cold forming: very good machinability: medium hard soldering: good soft soldering: good gas shielded welding: good burnishing: good Appliction: For all types of springs, especially in electrical industry, for connectors, hose and spring tubes, fabric and screening wires, gong bars. Further application in paper, cellulose and chemical industry, in shipbuilding and machine engineering. For the electrolytically tinned strip the coatings (Sn bright, Sn matt, Sn fuzed, SnPb) are listed by the application (better solderability, better corrosion resistance, reduction of the electrical contact resistance, better appearance) in the DIN EN 14436 : 2004-11 (Table 5)
