DIN 1725‑1 Grade 3.4337 T8: High‑Purity Al‑Zn‑Mg Alloy for Premium Finishes

The alloy Al99,8ZnMg belongs to the standardised aluminum shining materials. Aluminum alloys, which are based on aluminum with a given minimum purity, can be polished after mechanical polishing chemically or electrolytically to high gloss. For this alloy this purity lies at 99,8 % Al, because of its high Zn-content (3,8 to 4,6 %). For Saving the produced gloss degree, an afterwards anodising is necessary. The degree of arranged reflection (grade of gloss) depends again on the degree of purity and the anodising layer thickness. Strength grades up to F25 can be achieved by hot ageing. The alloy Al99,8ZnMg has a very good corrosion resistance and is well cold and hot formable. It is standardised only as extruded sheath (DIN 1748 T1 and T2). Application: For decoration goods (trim) and Bijouterie articles for metal goods of all kinds (e.g. building fittings, table-ware, flow pressed parts and for reflectors.
