Toray Advanced Composites, with its U.S. headquarters in Morgan Hill, California, and BASF of Florham Park, New Jersey, have signed a comprehensive manufacturing and supply agreement. The partnership centers on producing continuous‑fiber‑reinforced thermoplastic (CFRT) tapes tailored for the automotive and industrial sectors.

Under the deal, Toray will manufacture premium CFRT tapes using BASF’s extensive Ultramid nylon engineering thermoplastics. The firm will reinforce BASF’s Ultramid nylon‑6 resins with either glass or carbon fibers, delivering high‑performance, cost‑effective materials that meet the rigorous demands of modern lightweight design.
