Ineos Expands Recycl‑IN Line to Offer 60%+ Recycled LDPE/LLDPE for Flexible Packaging
Ineos Olefins & Polymers announced a long‑term partnership with waste‑management specialist Saica Natur to secure a steady supply of recycled low‑density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low‑density polyethylene (LLDPE). This collaboration will support Ineos’ commitment to meeting the rising demand for higher recycled content in sustainable, virgin‑quality flexible packaging.
Leveraging the partnership, Ineos has engineered a new generation of high‑performance Recycl‑IN resins that blend post‑consumer recyclate (PCR) with highly engineered virgin polymers. The result is a material that delivers properties on par with virgin plastic while enabling more than 60% recycled content in stretch and lamination films—common substrates for detergent and personal‑care flexible pouches.
Ineos O&P has expanded its Recycl‑IN range to include packaging solutions with over 60% recycled content.
This addition pushes technical boundaries by integrating more than 60% PCR into flexible packaging. According to the company, the Recycl‑IN blend maintains the performance, clarity, and durability required by converters, brand owners, and retailers, ensuring that sustainability does not compromise quality.
“Together with Saica Natur, we combine the innovation, expertise, and capability to move toward a circular economy for plastics in flexible packaging,” said Rob Ingram, CEO of Ineos Olefins & Polymers North Europe. “Saica are experts in recycling post‑consumer plastic film, and Ineos brings polymer‑science expertise to enhance quality, specification, and performance. We are pleased to add these new flexible packaging products to our Recycl‑IN range.”
