Creality K2 Plus Combo: The Next‑Gen Multicolor 3D Printer for Professionals & Hobbyists
Since its unveiling in spring 2024, the Creality K2 Plus has captured the attention of both seasoned makers and newcomers. On November 11, Creality released the K2 Plus Combo – a comprehensive solution that blends vibrant multicolor printing, high speed, advanced intelligence, and a generous 350 mm cubic build volume into one machine.
All‑new CFS for Multicolor Creativity
The Creality Filament System (CFS) is the cornerstone of true multicolor 3D printing. It’s a premium filament storage box with four slots, each accommodating a 1 kg spool. When four CFS units are linked, they can supply up to 16 distinct colors for a single model, eliminating the need for post‑print painting. The system also supports snap‑away or water‑soluble supports, ensuring clean removal without leaving marks.
Intelligent automation is built into CFS: an RFID‑enabled filament is automatically identified for color and material type, and the printer receives this data instantly. If a spool is running low, CFS swaps in a spare without interrupting the print. The unit also offers airtight storage with real‑time temperature and humidity displays, and a spring‑loaded batten bar keeps spools firmly in place.
A King‑Sized & Quiet Powerhouse
The K2 Plus is a professional‑grade printer that delivers a 350 × 350 × 350 mm build volume – ideal for prototypes, presentation models, and end‑use parts. It’s the first desktop 3D printer to employ industry‑grade, field‑weaving, 1‑phase step‑servo motors on every axis, each capable of 32,768 micro‑steps per revolution. This precision enables smooth printing at speeds up to 600 mm/s with an impressive acceleration of 30,000 mm/s², all while producing virtually no vibration.
Its ultra‑rigid exoskeleton, reinforced XYZ axis, and sealed enclosure keep noise down to just 45 dB at 300 mm/s – quieter than a laptop keyboard. The result is a reliable, quiet machine that can run in any office or workshop environment.
Master of Materials & Print Quality
The K2 Plus features an actively heated chamber that can reach 60 °C, which is essential for strong, warping‑free prints in ASA, PPA, and other high‑end polymers. Its direct‑drive extruder can handle 350 °C printing with a maximum flow rate of 40 mm³/s, and the hardened‑steel nozzle delivers consistent performance with wear‑resistant materials.
Heavy‑weight construction dampens vibrations, yielding dimensional accuracy of 0.05 mm and eliminating ringing across all print speeds. Dual auxiliary cooling fans on either side of the chamber provide optimal part cooling, preventing stringing and warping from the outset.
AI & Automation for a Seamless Workflow
Equipped with 18 smart sensors, the K2 Plus offers a fully automated, closely monitored printing experience. Two AI cameras monitor the print chamber for filament failures and idle states, while a second camera on the toolhead optimizes flow rate to prevent under‑ or over‑feeding.
Upon unboxing, the printer behaves like a modern appliance. Dual Z‑axis motors perform auto‑leveling after automatically adjusting bed tilt, ensuring a perfect first layer from the start. Additional features include active belt tensioning, built‑in air purification, and high‑speed dual‑band Wi‑Fi for seamless connectivity.
The software suite has been fully updated. Creality OS now supports multi‑filament management, while Creality Print has been redesigned to work with 3MF multicolor models. The Creality Cloud app provides an even richer selection of models and advanced printing features.
Committed to pushing the boundaries of creativity, the K2 Plus Combo redefines desktop 3D printing. Visit creality.com for more details.
