India’s First 3D‑Printed Fabric Dress Debuts at Inside 3D Printing Mumbai
3D printing has steadily moved from industrial prototyping into high fashion, with major brands like Nike and Adidas experimenting with the technology and avant‑garde designers such as Michael Smith and Iris van Herpen pushing its creative boundaries.
Indian designer and stylist Snigdha Agarwal is now bringing that cutting‑edge innovation to India. Her team has created a stunning 3D‑printed dress that will be on display at the Inside 3D Printing Mumbai Conference & Expo on 3–4 December 2015. The garment was produced entirely by a 3D printer, using a novel 3D‑printed fabric engineered specifically for this project.

3D printing allows designers to realise shapes that are impossible—or prohibitively expensive—to manufacture with conventional methods. To translate her vision into reality, Snigdha partnered with Swapnil Sansare, founder and CEO of Divide By Zero Technologies, a leading Navi Mumbai 3D‑printing specialist.
Divide By Zero Technologies is a premier Indian manufacturer of industrial‑grade, affordable 3D printers. Their Accucraft and Aion series of rapid‑prototyping machines have become catalysts for innovation, converting digital .STL designs into tangible models and empowering creators across industries.
Clients of Divide By Zero span architecture, civil engineering, automotive, electronics, casting, packaging, defence, medical, IIT research labs, stop‑motion animation and more—demonstrating the versatility of their technology for fashion, architecture and beyond.
