Arburg Unveils Allrounder 1120H – Largest Press in U.S. with Award‑Winning Design and Advanced Control Features
The Allrounder 1120H is Arburg’s largest press yet and the first model of its new design family. It debuted at NPE2018 in the United States, featuring a 650‑metric‑ton clamp (730 U.S. tons) – a 30 % increase over previous models – and 1120‑mm tie‑bar spacing, 20 % larger than other Allrounders. The machine delivers a 1050‑mm stroke with a dry‑cycle time of just 2.4 seconds.
Its sleek chassis earned a design award from iF International Forum Design GmbH, the world’s oldest independent design institute, underscoring Arburg’s commitment to innovation and quality.
The Allrounder 1120H is a hybrid press that integrates an electric toggle clamp powered by twin servos, servo‑hydraulic injection with a gas accumulator, and electric ejection as standard (hydraulic ejection optional). All electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and temperature‑control systems are sealed within the frame for safety and reliability. Linear guides support the safety gates and injection unit, while fold‑out steps provide convenient mold access.
The new Gestica controller features a pivoting, height‑adjustable operator panel that resembles a tablet. A 15.6‑inch full‑HD glass display offers multitouch and gesture commands, and the EASYslider allows operators to fine‑tune machine motions with a simple fingertip swipe.
Alongside the 1120H, Arburg already offers the Allrounder 920 H (500 m.t.) and Allrounder 820 H (400 m.t.)—the latter will be unveiled at Plast2018 in Milan this spring.
At NPE, the Allrounder 1120H is currently producing a polypropylene folding step stool using an eight‑cavity family mold. The part is assembled in an adjacent cell with a six‑axis robot and demolded by a new Multilift V Cartesian robot capable of an 88‑lb payload.
