AMC Awards 2010 Winners: Recognizing Excellence in Asset Management

Across the 2010 Asset Management Awards, participants consistently highlighted how enhanced asset reliability and cost reductions drive business improvement.

Organizations at various stages of adopting sound asset‑management practices were recognized. The Awards Dinner, held at Adelaide’s Hilton and co‑hosted with the ICOMS Asset Management Conference, drew more than 200 leaders and practitioners from across the industry.

Geoff Cannon, Chairman of the Awards Committee and MC for the evening, noted, “The Asset Management Awards give organizations a chance to reflect on their current journey and to plan the next steps toward a continuously maturing approach to managing physical assets.”

Entries this year included:

CS Energy Ltd earned a Bronze award, while Airservices Australia, BHP Billiton Western Australia Iron Ore and Transfield Services each received Silver.

“Receiving entries from across Australia and from industries such as mining, aviation, electricity and energy confirms that asset management is becoming integral to effective business today,” Cannon said.

All recipients undergo an on‑site review by three experienced assessors who deliver a detailed report highlighting strengths and opportunities, benchmarked against the Asset Management Body of Knowledge.

The 2010 Nominee Award, presented to the highest‑scoring entrant, went to BHP Billiton Western Australia Iron Ore. The company will be a finalist in Engineers Australia’s 2010 Australian Engineering Excellence Award at the Great Hall of the Australian Parliament House, Canberra, later this year.
