GE Secures 12-Year Service Contract with NV Energy to Boost Power Plant Reliability
On October 27, GE announced it has secured a 12‑year services contract with Nevada utility NV Energy, aimed at enhancing the long‑term reliability and availability of four critical power plants in the company’s generating fleet.
The contract encompasses GE‑designed 7FA/D11 gas‑ and steam‑generation units located at NV Energy’s Frank A. Tracy, Chuck Lenzie, Harry Allen, and Silverhawk combined‑cycle plants.
"Our strategic service agreement with GE is designed to increase the long‑term reliability of our power plants and to help ensure maximum operational flexibility," said Kevin Geraghty, NV Energy’s vice president of power generation. "Increasing the long‑term reliability of our plants will help us control energy prices and meet the diverse energy demands of our customers."
"Our services agreement is the starting point of the strong partnership we look forward to growing with NV Energy to meet its requirements for service excellence and maximum operational flexibility and reliability," said James Kaveney, general manager of GE Energy Power Generation Services Americas.
"More utilities across the country are looking to GE as their preferred, long‑term service agreement partner because we have the expertise and scale to help operators achieve greater savings and performance of their generating fleets," added Bill Jayne, GE Energy West region executive.
NV Energy, headquartered in Las Vegas, serves a 54,500‑square‑mile territory and provides a wide range of energy services and products to approximately 2.4 million residents of Nevada.
