STMicroelectronics Launches IIS3DWB Sensor and STEVAL-STWINKT1 Kit for Advanced Condition Monitoring
STMicroelectronics’ IIS3DWB 3‑axis MEMS accelerometer, coupled with the STEVAL‑STWINKT1 multi‑sensor evaluation kit, streamlines the design of next‑generation condition‑monitoring systems. Together they provide the foundation for Industry 4.0 applications that enable predictive, data‑driven maintenance of factory equipment.
Optimised for vibration sensing, the IIS3DWB delivers a flat frequency response from DC to 6 kHz, a digital output interface, and an ultra‑low noise density of 75 µg/√Hz in 3‑axis mode (60 µg/√Hz single‑axis). It consumes only 1.1 mA at full performance and operates reliably across a wide temperature range of –40 °C to +105 °C.

The STEVAL‑STWINKT1 plug‑and‑play development kit and reference design simplify prototyping and testing of industrial IoT applications. In addition to the IIS3DWB, the core system board hosts a microcontroller and a suite of miniature sensors, enabling 9‑DoF motion sensing and comprehensive vibration analysis across a broad frequency range. Connectivity options include BLE 4.2 via an onboard module, Wi‑Fi through a plug‑in expansion board, and wired RS‑485 through an integrated transceiver.
