InvenSense ICM‑42688‑P: Low‑Noise MEMS Motion Sensor for Precision Applications

InvenSense ICM‑42688‑P: Low‑Noise MEMS Motion Sensor for Precision ApplicationsThe InvenSense ICM‑42688‑P integrates a 3‑axis gyroscope and 3‑axis accelerometer into a single, high‑performance MEMS package. With a 40 % reduction in noise and twice the temperature stability of typical consumer‑grade IMUs, it delivers consistent, accurate motion data regardless of ambient temperature shifts.

Designed for robotics, wearables, drones, and other motion‑tracking systems, the sensor accepts an external clock to eliminate timing errors and boost overall performance. An on‑chip ADC enhances gyroscope resolution eightfold and accelerometer resolution fourfold. The ICM‑42688‑P offers a configurable host interface supporting I3C, I²C, and SPI, a 2‑kB FIFO, and two programmable interrupts that enable low‑power wake‑on‑motion operation.

InvenSense supplies the DK‑42688‑P development kit, complete with software tools that accelerate evaluation and integration of the 6‑axis sensor into new products.
