STTS22H: 0.25 °C Accuracy, Ultra‑Low‑Power Digital Temperature Sensor

STTS22H: 0.25 °C Accuracy, Ultra‑Low‑Power Digital Temperature SensorSTMicroelectronics introduces the STTS22H, a high‑precision digital temperature sensor that delivers a typical accuracy of 0.25 °C while consuming remarkably little power. Designed for battery‑powered and low‑budget applications, the sensor is ideal for HVAC systems, asset tracking, shipping‑container loggers, air humidifiers, refrigerators, building‑automation, and consumer electronics.

Key Features

Power Efficiency

The STTS22H excels in energy‑constrained scenarios: it draws only 2.0 µA at 1 Hz ODR and 1.75 µA during periodic one‑shot measurements. Standby consumption drops to a mere 0.5 µA (typical) when the serial port is inactive. With an operating‑voltage window of 1.5 V to 3.6 V, the sensor can run on small lithium cells or other low‑voltage sources.

Performance & Reliability

Featuring a rapid 5 ms conversion time, the STTS22H outputs 16‑bit temperature data. The device is factory‑calibrated and maintains the 0.25 °C accuracy across a wide temperature range of –10 °C to 60 °C, eliminating the need for user calibration. Its robust design ensures consistent performance in harsh industrial environments.

Packaging & Cost

Encased in a compact 2.0 × 2.0 × 0.5 mm 6‑lead UDFN package, the STTS22H is cost‑effective: it is priced at $0.49 per unit for orders of 1,000 pieces.

Whether you’re developing a next‑generation HVAC controller, a smart refrigerator, or a fleet tracking solution, the STTS22H provides the precision, flexibility, and energy efficiency you need.
