emtrion has begun series production of the new emCON‑MX8M Mini computer‑on‑module, offering a blend of high performance, low power consumption, and robust security for demanding embedded applications.

Built around NXP’s i.MX 8M Mini—a heterogeneous, 14‑LPC FinFET processor—the module is engineered for industrial IoT, multimedia streaming, and machine‑learning workloads. The FinFET design delivers exceptional reliability in harsh environments, while the CPU architecture supports up to four Arm Cortex‑A53 cores at 2 GHz and a 400 MHz Cortex‑M4 core.

Memory flexibility is a key feature: the module accepts DDR3L, DDR4, or LPDDR4 RAM, and includes 16 MB QSPI NOR flash, up to 64 GB eMMC NAND flash, and up to 4 GB LPDDR4 SDRAM. This configuration ensures ample storage and rapid data access for complex applications.

Audio, video, and voice processing are streamlined by integrated SPDIF, SAI, dual LCD, and MIPI‑CSI‑2 interfaces—standard in modern embedded vision systems.
