ECM3532: Eta Compute’s First Integrated, Ultra‑Low‑Power AI Sensor Board Accelerates Edge Development

Eta Compute Inc. has unveiled the industry’s first fully integrated, ultra‑low‑power AI sensor board, the ECM3532, built around its TENSAI SoC. The board shortens the initial smart‑sensor development cycle—feasibility, proof‑of‑concept, and board design—from several months to weeks or even days, according to the company.

Prior iterations of smart‑sensor solutions demanded multiple boards to capture data and run inference. The ECM3532 consolidates all required functions—including data acquisition—into a single module that can operate for months on a single battery cell while executing machine‑learning algorithms.

Key sensor suite: dual PDM microphones, a pressure‑temperature sensor, and a 6‑axis MEMS accelerometer/gyroscope. The board’s 1.4 × 1.4‑inch footprint, integrated battery socket, and Bluetooth connectivity via the ABOV Semiconductor A31R118 BLE SoC make it ideal for IoT prototypes and field testing.

Use cases span voice‑activated consumer devices, building automation, asset tracking, predictive maintenance, and context awareness across industrial and consumer domains. The ECM3532 is available through Digi‑Key.

Eta Compute is hosting a complimentary online workshop in partnership with Edge Impulse on July 14, 2020. The first 50 qualified developers will receive an ECM3532 board at no cost. Register here.
