GDPR compliance and the evolving regulatory landscape add complexity, but they also provide a framework for responsible data sharing. As cities, utilities, hospitals, schools, and transport networks roll out new sensors, the challenge shifts from collection to integration and extraction of actionable insights.

IoT devices generate streams that were previously inaccessible. While initial pilots treat this data as a standalone asset, the goal is to merge it with existing repositories, forming comprehensive data lakes.
