Chesterton Launches Connected IoT Sensor to Boost Rotating Equipment Uptime

Chesterton has unveiled the Connect, a cutting‑edge IoT sensor and mobile app that empowers industrial teams to maximize uptime for their rotating equipment.

The 24/7 Connected sensor monitors vibration, surface temperature, process pressure and process temperature—critical indicators of equipment health. It is compatible with pumps, mixers, gearboxes, motors, fans and other rotating machinery.

Installation is straightforward, and the sensor streams data via Bluetooth to a dedicated app. The app aggregates readings from multiple sensors, providing a holistic view of plant equipment health and delivering real‑time alerts when operating limits are breached. Exportable data feeds enable in‑depth analysis, helping teams anticipate issues and extend mean time between repairs (MTBR).

"The Connect keeps operators ahead of trouble before it escalates," said Steve Bullen, Product Director for Chesterton’s mechanical seals. "It gives pump operators the foresight needed to adjust operations, preventing costly, unplanned downtime."

Based in Groveland, Massachusetts, Chesterton serves over 100 countries, delivering rotary, stationary and fluid power solutions—including industrial fluid seals, high‑performance coatings and specialty lubricants.
