Schaffner Launches Advanced FN 9262/9266 RFI Filters with IEC C14 PEMs for Medical & Consumer Applications
Schaffner, the global leader in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) solutions, today unveiled a new family of RFI filters that integrate IEC C14 power‑entry modules (PEMs) equipped with either an internal fuse holder or a dual‑pole switch.
The FN 9262 (fuse holder) and FN 9266 (dual‑pole switch) models build on the proven FN 9260 and FN 9264 lines, delivering markedly higher attenuation across the entire frequency spectrum. They are specifically engineered for demanding environments, such as medical devices, where additional regulatory approvals simplify design integration. The B‑type variants (FN 9262 B, FN 9266 B) satisfy IEC 60601‑1‑1 MOPP, providing one means of patient protection.
Superior performance stems from two technical advancements: a next‑generation core material that enhances common‑mode rejection, and increased X‑capacitor values that boost differential‑mode attenuation.
All models share the same compact housing dimensions as their predecessors, enabling straightforward swaps in existing systems. The PEMs are mechanically compatible with most IEC C14‑style products in the market, mirroring the footprint of the FN 9260 and FN 9264 series.
With the expanded FN 9260/2/4/6 lineup and its robust attenuation, this filter family serves medical equipment, modern household appliances, and audio‑video gear. It also meets a broad spectrum of applications requiring stringent EMC performance.
Each filter is certified to UL 60939‑3, CSA C22.2 No. 8, IEC 60939‑3, and CQC, bears a CE mark, and complies with RoHS II (2015/863). These approvals underscore Schaffner’s commitment to safety, reliability, and environmental responsibility.
