Micro‑Epsilon Unveils Advanced IP67 Thermal Imaging Camera with Ethernet and Autonomous Hotspot Detection
Micro‑Epsilon, a leader in precision thermal sensing, introduces the thermoIMAGER TIM41 – a compact, IP67‑rated camera that delivers 384 × 240‑pixel resolution and temperature readings from –20 °C to +900 °C. Designed for industrial OEM applications, it supports autonomous operation via Ethernet, including Power‑over‑Ethernet (PoE) up to 100 m, eliminating the need for an external PC.
The TIM41 streams infrared video at 25 Hz through its Ethernet interface and can be monitored with the free TIMConnect software. Temperature data are also available via the 4‑20 mA process output or a 5‑30 VDC power supply when PoE is unavailable.
Its standout feature is the auto‑hotspot‑finder, which automatically detects hot and cold spots in real time—even on moving objects—across up to three simultaneous fields of view. The system can feed data to PLCs, triggering alarms, door locks, cooling systems, or shutdowns when thresholds are exceeded, providing proactive protection against overheating and fire risks in critical plant equipment.
Setup is straightforward with TIMConnect, allowing users to configure virtually unlimited inspection zones, record IR footage, capture snapshots, and plot temperature trends over time. Four interchangeable lenses give flexibility for various distances and fields of view, while motorised focus can be adjusted directly from the software.
Robust accessories—air purge collars, protective windows, and cooling housings—expand the TIM41’s suitability across diverse industrial environments.
