DIN 1654‑5 X6CrNiMoTi 17‑12‑2: Cold‑Drawn, Quenched & Finely Surface‑Processed Steel

The steel X 6 CrNiMoTi 17 12 2 is well suited for cold-forming, one must be aware of the increased cold strain hardening compared to carbon steels. Cold forming is worse than for X 5 CrNiMo 17 12 2. Its increased corrosion resistance to non-oxidizing acids and substances containing halogen allow it to be used in the chemical equipment construction industry, and in the soap, cellulose, fatty aicd, rubber and paint industries. It is used for stainless steel screws, nuts and molded parts in temperatures of -200 to 550 degrees C (avoid the influence of substances causing intergranular corrosion).
