DIN 1725-1 Grade 3.4415 – High-Performance Al–Zn Alloy for Corrosion Protection

The alloy AlZn1 is nature hard. A strength increase can be achieved only by cold forming, not by a purposeful heat treatment. It is used due to its good corrosion resistance mainly as plating material. The alloy AlZn1 is well hot and cold formable and weldable, but it can be worked on less well splinter-giving. Their thermal and electrical conductivity is relatively good, the attainable mechanical properties are low. Application: As sacrificial anodes for heat exchangers as corrosion protection for high-strenghth sheet metals (roll-bonded cladding).
