EN 10222-5 X5CrNiMo17-12-2: Solution-Annealed Austenitic Steel for Chemical & Pharmaceutical Use
Trademark X5CrNiMo17-12-2 is an austenitic chrome-nickel-molybdenum-steel with increased resistance to non oxidizing acids and halogenated media, in delivery condition to intercrystalline corrosion. To the comparable material X 5 CrNiMo 17 12 2 applies: The material is suitable for mirror finishing and cold formable. Application for acid-resistant apparatuses in chemical and pharmaceutical industry, cellulose, rubber, color, fatty acid, textile and viscose industry, petrochemistry, for medical and photographical goods, in sewage plants, at higher chloride contents. Applicable in pressure vessel construction up to 300 °C., above that subject to authorization. It is applicated in construction trade for components with highest corrosion loadings (e.g. masonry anchorages in concrete, smokestacks, sanitary engineering, facades outside, lifts). The Mo-alloyed rust-resistant steel is approved for load-bearing components.
