SEW 520 G24Mn6: Quenched & Tempered Steel with Superior Weldability
The material G24Mn6 is suitable for fusion welding and is considered to have a good weldability, since it has been successfully used with good results in cast - welded constructions, especially in combination with rolling mill and forged products made from quenchhardened high-strength fine-grain structural steels. In addition to high values for the 0.2% proof strength, the material distinguishes itself by relatively high values of the notch impact energy at the same time. Application: is chiefly applied in the mechanical engineering and the vehicle manufacturing, furthermore in the plant engineering and crane construction, in the offshore-technology as well as in the underground mining at climatically determined temperatures.
