EN 10028-7 Grade X5CrNiMo17-12-2 – Solution Annealed (+AT) – Premium Corrosion-Resistant Austenitic Steel
The austenitic steel X5CrNiMo17-12-2 shows an increased resistance to unoxidizing acids and halogenated media, to intercrystalline corrosion in delivery condition. It is usable for mirror-polishing and well cold formable. Application: for acid resistant instruments of chemical and pharmaceutical industry, cellulose, rubber, fatty acid, textile and rayon industry, petrochemical engineering, for parts of medical and photograpic supply, in sewage plants, for higher chloride-contents and in the beverage industry. Applicable in pressure vessel construction up to 300 °C, otherwise subject to authorization. In the civil engineering for construction elements of highest corrosion demands (e.g. masonry anchorage coupler, smokestacks, sanitary engineering, exterior facades, elevators). The Mo-alloyed stainless steel is approved for construction elements of carrying function (extended approval certificate No. Z-30.44.1 of Institut für Bautechnik Berlin, 01/02/89), containing demands for materials, calculation and construction control. Strength grades E 225 and E 355 are common.
