DIN 1725-1 Grade 3.3527 H2x – Durable Aluminum Alloy with Enhanced Heat Resistance and Corrosion Protection

The alloy AlMg2Mn0,8 has similar characteristics as the alloy AlMg1,8. The additive of Mn (>0,6%) causes an increase of the heat resistance (up to 150°C) of the material and the recrystallisation limit. The result of the last is, that in case of extruded profiles the strength in longitudinal direction increases. The material is characterised by a good corrosion resistance. It is sea water steady and steady against saline atmosphere. With the Mg content the strength increases, the cold forming capacity decreases. The alloy is nature hard, i.e. that only by a cold forming shaping however by a purposeful heat treatment a strength increase cannot be attained. The splinter-giving workability and the weldability are improved with increasing Mg content. Application: In the apparatus engineering for receivers accordint to AD-W6/1 and according to VdTUEV-Werkstoffblaetter, for compressed gas tanks (pipings), for very low-temperature tanks and for temperatures to 250 °C. In the automobile engineering for utilizable superstructures, silo trucks, in shipbuilding for trunk and superstructures. In the building industry for roofings, claddings, for carrying constructions according to DIN 4173 and sun protection facilities as well as for furniture (including camping furniture).
