X2CrNiMoN17-13-5 (Grade X2) – Solution-Annealed Steel per DIN EN 10272, Ideal for Pressure Vessels

The steel grade X2CrNiMoN17-13-5 acc. to DIN EN 10271 : 2001-01is used for hot and cold formed rods for pressure vessels. The material shows high pitting and crevice corrosion resistance (better qualities than 1.4436) as well as stress corrosion resistance with excellent general resistance in many organic acids of high concentration and temperature, e.g. in non-oxidizing acids and chloride containing media (seawater, hypochloride solution), also in inorganic and mixed acids as well as resistance to intercrystalline corrosion also in sensitized condition.
