WL 3.4334-1: German Aviation Grade 3.4334 (T74) – Premium Forged Aluminum Alloy
Material 3.4334 acc.to material specification of German Aviation WL 3.4334, part 1, edition 03.90, WL 3.4334, part 2, edition. 03.90 and WL 3.4334, part 100, edition. 03.90 is in its chemical composition similar to the materials 3.4364 (aviation mat.) and 3.4365 (AlZnMgCu1,5) acc. to DIN 1725/01, edition 02.83. It is used in the form of forged parts in heat-treatment conditions T74 and T7452. In comparison to forged parts of 3.4364 (AlZnMgCu1,5) forged parts of 3.4334T74bzw T7452 have a higher strength and comparable or higher vibration resistance and fracture toughness at concomitant favorable corrosion and stress corrosion resistance. The material is unusable for fusion-welding. Resistance welding is possible. Alloy 3.4334 is used in aircraft construction for fittings and landing gears.
