EN 12165 Grade CuBe2 M – Premium Hardenable Copper Alloy for High Strength and Durability

CuBe2, mat. No CW101C, is counted among hardenable, low alloyed copper alloys. To the comparable make CuBe2, mat. No 2.1247, acc. to DIN 17666 : 1983-12 applies: It is an alloy of optimal hardenability for highest requirements to strength, elasticity, abrasion and fatigue resistance. CuBe2 shows mean electrical and favorable thermal conductivity. The material does not show any embrittlement at lower temperatures (up to -200°C) as well as no stress corrosion sensitivity. The temperature for removal of workhardening approximates 350°C. Processing properties: hot and cold forming: good machinability: moderately hard and soft soldering: good gas shielded welding: good burnishing: good Application: For bearing jewels and screws, tensioning belts and wires, membranes, balance springs and drawn parts for watches, all types of springs. Individual parts for HF- and NF- special couplers, wear-resistant worms and gear-wheels, high-stress solid components, non-magnetic and spark-safe. For the electrolytically tinned strip the coatings (Sn bright, Sn matt, Sn fuzed, SnPb) are listed by the application (better solderability, better corrosion resistance, reduction of the electrical contact resistance, better appearance) in the DIN EN 14436 : 2004-11 (Table 5)
