DuPont Enhances BOA Fit System with Advanced Zytel Nylon, Boosting Performance Across Sports
DuPont has partnered with BOA Technology, the creator of the BOA Fit System, to integrate DuPont’s Zytel impact‑modified nylon 66 into the system’s key components. The collaboration brings higher impact strength, superior colorability, enhanced weatherability, moisture resistance, and consistent performance at extreme temperatures.
“DuPont’s Zytel resins have enabled us to raise the bar on the performance and reliability of our current BOA Fit System, strengthening our ability to serve our customers and helping us expand into new market sectors such as trail and court footwear,” said Cody Henderson, BOA Technology’s director of product development operations and sustainability.

The BOA Fit System is featured in snow sports, cycling, running, workwear and more. It consists of a micro‑adjustable dial, ultra‑light, high‑strength laces, and low‑friction lace guides—all engineered for a connected, fast, customized and durable fit. Because the system must perform reliably across diverse usage and environmental conditions—and because BOA offers a lifetime guarantee on its products—the materials must consistently deliver excellent wear resistance, strength, and impact resistance.
In addition to Zytel nylon grades, DuPont supplies BOA with other innovative materials, such as Delrin acetal and Hytrel thermoplastic elastomer. Delrin resins provide low friction, high wear resistance, and excellent colorability, while Hytrel grades combine the flexibility of rubber with the processing ease of thermoplastics, delivering exceptional durability and resilience for demanding sporting‑goods applications.
