Advanced Glass-Filled PET for Superior Automotive Exterior Parts

Polyplastics Group introduces two high‑performance glass‑filled PET grades—RH030 (30% glass) and RH045 (45% glass)—designed to deliver exceptional mechanical strength, a flawless jet‑black finish, and superior weather resistance for automotive exterior parts.

These materials maintain their deep black hue and resist surface whitening even after prolonged outdoor exposure, making them ideal for side mirrors, rear‑wiper arms, and blades.

Because PET components are typically unpainted, weathering can degrade appearance over time. Accelerated weather‑resistance tests show that RH030 and RH045 achieve lower whiteness‑index values than competing products, confirming reduced surface fade.

In addition to their aesthetic advantages, the grades exhibit excellent mold transferability, yielding smooth, high‑gloss surfaces that outperform 30% glass‑filled PBT reference material—despite the higher glass content.

Mechanically, RH030 and RH045 outperform comparable PBT grades at similar glass loadings, offering higher tensile strength, greater flexural modulus, and higher deflection temperature under load.
