DSM Introduces Trosar UHMWPE: Enhanced Strength & Durability for High-Performance Applications
Royal Dutch DSM has launched Trosar, a next‑generation ultra‑high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) that delivers unprecedented tensile strength and durability. With a U.S. office in Troy, Mich., DSM has long been a leader in advanced fiber technologies; Trosar extends that legacy into a broader range of demanding applications.
Trosar’s exceptional tensile strength and energy‑absorbing behavior make it ideal for a wide spectrum of high‑performance uses, including soft and hard ballistic armor, air‑cargo containers, high‑strength cables, radomes, as well as ropes, nets, and slings. Its superior mechanical profile also ensures longevity in harsh operational environments.
Available in both fiber and unidirectional laminate (UD) formats, Trosar will be produced to DSM’s rigorous quality standards in the Netherlands, North America, and China, guaranteeing consistent performance and supply reliability across global markets.
