2021 Formlabs User Summit: Innovation, New Releases, and 8,000+ Global Participants
The 2021 Formlabs User Summit, held on October 26‑27, celebrated the theme “Changing with the World.” Over 8,000 members from every industry gathered—both in person and online—to see how additive manufacturing is reshaping workflows, accelerating design, and driving superior products.
For us, the Summit is the pinnacle of the year: a two‑day showcase of creativity and breakthrough technology. The event featured new releases such as the Form Wash L and Form Cure L, unveiled by CEO Max Lobovsky, and real‑world applications from brands like Peloton and Tapestry. We also honored Julien Montenero, a French prosthesis specialist who uses 3D printing for reconstructive surgery.
Did you miss the live event? No problem. We’re making every session available on demand—free of charge—so you can dive into the full 100+ hours of content whenever you’re ready.

Global Keynote
The Formlabs executive team opened the summit and presented the winner of our annual Formlabs Impact Award. NASA/JPL’s Grace Tan‑Wang joined us to discuss how 3D printing is accelerating space‑simulation training for missions to Mars and Europa, and how rapid prototyping is paving the way for future solar‑system exploration.
User Panel: Product Designers From NYC with Peloton, Tapestry, MakeLab
Peloton’s Kat Ermant, Tapestry’s designers, and the MakeLab Service Bureau shared their strategies for using 3D printing to fast‑track product development, meet market demand, and scale production. The panel concluded with a lively Q&A.
Entertainment Panel: Telling Compelling Stories with 3D Printing
Pixologic’s Paul Gabooury introduced three creators who harness SLA 3D printing for miniatures, interactive toys, and large‑scale fine‑art sculptures. Highlighting SNL Creative Inc. CEO Lindsey Zindroski, we saw stop‑motion models that appeared on a recent Netflix show—printed, painted, and used directly on set.
What’s New With the Form 3
Formlabs expert Gabe Seltzer outlined the latest firmware and hardware upgrades to the flagship SLA machine, including the Resin Tank V 2.1 and new software features that enhance print quality and workflow efficiency. More details can be found on our support page.
User Panel: Fuse 1 For End‑Use Parts
Within a year of acquiring Fuse 1 printers, users are already building critical parts in-house. Veteran paramedic Myke Overstreet introduced the Tension Square—a device that prevents needle‑decompression catheter kinks—and explained how Fuse 1 enabled rapid prototyping. Peter Deppe, CEO of KUHMUTE, shared how SLS Nylon parts power his e‑scooter and bike charging network.
