GrabCAD Launches Powerful New SolidWorks Add‑In for Seamless 3D Printing

Three days after Stratasys unveiled its F123 series 3‑D printers, GrabCAD released a brand‑new SolidWorks add‑in that integrates seamlessly into the Stratasys digital‑manufacturing ecosystem. Engineers and designers now have a streamlined path from CAD model to finished part—all within SolidWorks.

View tessellations and control the STL output settings.
The add‑in lets you:
- Select printer model, material type, and slice height
- Adjust orientation on the build tray
- Estimate print time and material consumption
- Generate and save detailed reports
- Send the job directly to the printer—without leaving SolidWorks!

View and save estimation reports.
For a step‑by‑step guide, click here. The add‑in installs via a standalone executable—download it from the same link. After installation, launch SolidWorks and a new GrabCAD Print tab will appear in the task pane. Log in with your GrabCAD credentials to activate the add‑in.
Important: Ensure the GrabCAD Print desktop app is installed and updated to the latest version before running the installer. If you own a compatible Stratasys printer but haven’t yet installed GrabCAD Print, you can download it here.

Log in to the GrabCAD cloud in the SolidWorks task pane.
Years of collaboration between Stratasys and GrabCAD have consistently simplified the traditional 3‑D‑printing workflow. This latest add‑in continues that legacy, empowering engineers, designers, and makers to bring their digital models to life faster and more reliably.
