Eiger Software Update: Introducing Automatic and Smart Rotation Tools

Experience a new level of precision with the latest Eiger software update. We’ve added automatic rotation tools that eliminate orientation hassles and streamline your workflow.

Automatic Rotation

With the new feature, any face or plane of your part can be automatically positioned flat against the print bed, respecting the geometry of the model. Select the desired face, and Eiger calculates the optimal Euler angles in real time.

The tool also checks for overhangs that would place features below the build plate. If necessary, it finds a parallel plane that keeps the entire part within printable bounds.

Manual Rotation

For those who prefer hands‑on control, manual rotation remains available. In the Part Settings pane, click Manual Rotation, then click an axis and drag to orient the model. If you need precise values, enter them directly in the X‑Y‑Z fields.

Feature Enhancements in Eiger

These tools mirror the functionality of leading CAD applications, taking you from STL import to finished print with minimal effort. Experiment with multiple orientations to find the most material‑efficient setup and reduce build times.
