Carl Calabria’s Caddytown: 3‑D Printed Nylon Caddies for Power Bits and Wera Sockets

Carl Calabria designed Caddytown in OnShape to organize his expanding collection of power‑bits and sockets. The caddies are printed from nylon, a material that offers just enough flexibility to release a bit without compromising durability.

While the design works beautifully with nylon alone, you can also print it on a Mark One and add a composite base. A few fiber layers at the bottom can improve flatness and stiffness, but the nylon’s inherent compliance makes the bits snap in and out effortlessly.

The socket caddy is tailored for a Wera set that discontinued its original holder. Carl modeled a holder that matches the exact dimensions, ensuring a snug fit. If you own a different socket set, simply scale the part to your sizes.

Carl entered this part into MarkForged’s internal “Part Of The Week” competition. He finished as first runner‑up, losing only to a customer submission that will also appear on the blog. The design is available on Thingiverse.
