OnRobot Unveils Compact Gecko Adhesive Gripper for Smooth, Shiny, and Perforated Surfaces

OnRobot, the Danish leader in end‑of‑arm tooling for collaborative robots (cobots), has launched a smaller version of its groundbreaking Gecko adhesive gripper. The new design targets smooth, shiny, and perforated workpieces—such as printed circuit boards, aluminum mesh, and head gaskets—without leaving any residue.

The Gecko gripper relies on millions of micro‑scale fibrillar stalks that mimic the natural adhesion of gecko lizards. By harnessing van der Waals forces, the silicone‑based pads attach firmly to a wide range of surfaces, yet can be released cleanly, eliminating the need for a post‑process cleaning step.
