Air New Zealand Secures 10‑Year $18 Million Maintenance Deal with Hamilton Sundstrand for Boeing 777 Fleet

Air New Zealand has chosen Hamilton Sundstrand’s Comprehensive Asset Repair and Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program to provide long‑term maintenance support for its Boeing 777 fleet. The 10‑year agreement, valued at approximately US$18 million, marks Hamilton Sundstrand’s first C.A.R.E. contract for the 777 and underscores its expanding presence in the global aftermarket.

The C.A.R.E. program delivers full repair, spare‑parts inventory, and logistics services, backed by key OEM accessory suppliers. Hamilton Sundstrand already holds similar, multi‑year agreements with 22 of the world’s 25 largest airlines.

“Hamilton Sundstrand’s C.A.R.E. program has a proven track record of delivering exceptional value to airline customers,” said Brendan Curran, Vice President of Aftermarket Sales & Commercial Spares. “We are delighted to extend C.A.R.E. to Air New Zealand’s Boeing 777 fleet.”

Chris Nassenstein, Air New Zealand’s General Manager of Technical Operations, highlighted the airline’s commitment to maintaining a young, competitive fleet. “In an intensely competitive industry, we must adopt the most efficient maintenance solutions to sustain a low cost base.”

Air New Zealand operates eight 777‑200s and options on seven 777‑300s. The carrier employs 10,000 staff and serves destinations across Australia, the South‑West Pacific, Asia, North America, the United Kingdom, and domestic New Zealand routes.
