Eaton Wins $568.7 M U.S. Air Force Power Reliability Contract

On April 14, Eaton Corporation announced that it has secured a multi‑year contract with the U.S. Air Force’s Air Logistics Center (ALC) at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The award—valued at up to $568.7 million—covers the supply of power‑reliability products and turnkey services, including engineering, project management, system integration, installation, training, and onsite maintenance.

The five‑year agreement, with a two‑year option, will be shared between Eaton and one additional supplier. Eaton’s Electrical Service & Systems Division, through its Federal Systems Business Unit, will lead the effort, ensuring the Air Force’s critical applications worldwide receive the highest level of reliability.

“For more than 20 years, we have delivered essential power solutions to the U.S. Air Force’s complex operations,” said Thomas S. Gross, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Eaton’s Electrical Sector. “This contract reinforces our unwavering commitment to world‑class power technology and exceptional customer service.”

The portfolio includes commercially available, online, double‑conversion UPS units ranging from 3 kVA to 1,000 kVA, along with associated ancillary equipment and spare parts. Designed for maximum uptime, the solutions support the Air Force’s global mission set.

Eaton was selected after a competitive evaluation that considered technical capability, past performance, and pricing. It marks the fourth U.S. Air Force award for Eaton’s UPS equipment and system integration, following contracts in 1988, 1996, and 2001 with Powerware Corporation—acquired by Eaton in 2004.

With a legacy of quality and a reputation as one of the largest UPS suppliers to the U.S. Government, Eaton continues to provide high‑quality products and services for some of the most critical and classified operations worldwide.

Eaton’s electrical business is a global leader in power distribution, power quality, control, and industrial automation. Its portfolio—Cutler‑Hammer, Moeller, Powerware, Holec, MEM, Santak, and MGE Office Protection Systems—delivers PowerChain Management solutions to data centers, industry, institutions, government, utilities, commercial, residential, and OEM markets.

Eaton Corporation is a diversified power‑management company with 2009 sales of $11.9 billion. It employs about 70,000 people and serves customers in more than 150 countries.
