Infineon Unveils XENSIV TLI4971: Precision Current Sensor for ±25 A to ±120 A Industrial Applications
Infineon Technologies introduces the XENSIV TLI4971, the first member of a new family of coreless Hall current sensors unveiled at this year’s PCIM trade fair. The sensor delivers precise, stable analog voltage outputs across a wide measurement range of ±25 A to ±120 A, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications such as 50 kW electric drives and photovoltaic inverters.
Key features include:
- High Accuracy – Sensitivity error as low as 2 % at room temperature, reducible below 2 % with a single-point in‑system calibration.
- Differential Hall Cells – Two Hall cells provide robust, cross‑talk‑immune performance even in noisy environments.
- Programmable Overcurrent Protection – Two dedicated output pins allow users to set custom threshold levels for pre‑warning and shutdown, eliminating the need for external components.
- Voltage Condition Alerts – Integrated signals for over‑ or under‑voltage on the supply line.
- Compact, High‑Performance Package – 8 × 8 × 1 mm leadless QFN (TISON‑8) with top‑tier thermal handling for up to 120 A.
- Galvanic Isolation – Up to 1.1 kV (V IORM) for safe high‑voltage integration.
Additional sensors in the XENSIV family, slated for release in 2020, will target automotive markets, further expanding Infineon’s expertise in precision current sensing.
