Infineon’s NLM0011 & NLM0010: NFC‑Enabled Contactless LED Driver Programming

Infineon’s NLM0011 and NLM0010 bring a new level of flexibility to LED lighting. These NFC‑enabled ICs allow remote programming of the driver current, eliminating the need for mechanical resistor tuning.

Both devices offer a configurable PWM output that drives standard analog LED driver ICs. In passive mode the driver module remains unpowered, yet the NFC interface still lets you tweak PWM parameters. Once the V_CC supply is applied, the IC automatically switches to active mode, generating a PWM waveform based on the stored configuration. An external RC filter turns this PWM into the DC voltage required to set the LED current.

The NLM0011 features a Constant Lumen Output (CLO) mode with eight reference points. CLO automatically compensates for LED aging by adjusting current to maintain stable luminous flux, all without a microcontroller and while remaining compatible with mainstream analog drivers. The NLM0010 offers the same dual‑mode NFC functionality minus the CLO feature, making it a lightweight alternative.

Both ICs come in a compact SOT‑23‑5 package and operate from 3.0 V to 5.5 V, fitting seamlessly into existing LED driver designs.
