Deutschmann Launches UNIGATE IC2 PROFIBUS: High‑Performance ARM Cortex‑M4 Bus Nodes
Deutschmann Automation introduces the UNIGATE IC2 PROFIBUS, the inaugural member of its new UNIGATE IC2 embedded series. Built on ARM Cortex‑M4 technology, these all‑in‑one bus nodes deliver a dramatic performance boost over the proven UNIGATE IC family.
Lightning‑Fast Script Execution
Leveraging Deutschmann’s free Protocol Developer tool, the UNIGATE IC2’s script engine runs 50–80 times faster than its predecessors, depending on command complexity. Simple scripts now complete in microseconds, while large scripts are processed with unprecedented speed.
Superior Data‑Transfer Rates
Compared to the older UNIGATE IC, the IC2 series achieves markedly higher throughput on SPI and UART interfaces:
- SPI Master: 12 Mbit/s (30 Mbit/s under test)
- SPI Slave: 10 Mbit/s
- UART: up to 7.5 Mbaud
Seamless Integration
The IC2 modules are pin‑compatible with existing UNIGATE IC solutions, ensuring backward compatibility. Existing scripts can be reused with minimal adjustments for the new timing characteristics.
Expanding Fieldbus Capabilities
Responding to the growing demand for high‑performance fieldbus modules, UNIGATE IC2 PROFIBUS is now available, with Fast Ethernet / ModbusTCP and EtherCAT variants slated for future release.
German Engineering, Long‑Term Availability
All UNIGATE products are designed and manufactured in Germany, using long‑term components to guarantee extended product availability and reliability.
