Industrial Internet Consortium Celebrates 1 Year: Demo, Keynote & Testbed Insights
On March 26, the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) will celebrate its first anniversary with a public event at its quarterly meeting in Reston, Virginia.
The gathering will feature a live demonstration of the IIC’s first publicly announced Testbed, a discussion of the World Economic Forum’s latest report on the future of connected products, and a keynote by Dr. Joe Salvo of GE Research, one of the consortium’s founding figures.
RTI, a founding member of the IIC, will showcase the Power Tools Fleet Management testbed—demonstrating how precise location tracking of hand tools can uncover operational inefficiencies, such as missed rivets on aircraft wings.
In addition to the public demo, RTI is actively shaping the consortium’s connectivity and security reference architectures, and participates in the marketing, use‑case, and testbed working groups.
With over 140 companies now members, the IIC is rapidly expanding its impact on the Industrial Internet of Things. Join us in Reston to celebrate a year of collaboration and innovation—and hopefully avoid any cake‑removal mishaps.
