Alps Alpine Unveils HSPPAD143A: Advanced Waterproof Digital Pressure Sensor for IoT & Wearables
Alps Alpine, a global leader in precision sensors, has introduced the HSPPAD143A—an ultra‑compact, waterproof digital pressure sensor engineered for the most demanding IoT and wearable applications. Designed with a dedicated ASIC and a FIFO memory buffer, the sensor delivers reliable, low‑power performance in both low‑pressure and high‑pressure environments.
With an expanded pressure range of 300 hPa to 2100 hPa, the HSPPAD143A can measure altitude up to 9,000 m and depth down to 10 m below water, making it ideal for flow meters, gas meters, and water‑sensing devices. The sensor’s I²C interface and 17‑bit pressure / 16‑bit temperature outputs provide high‑resolution data for real‑time monitoring.

The sensor is surface‑mounted in a 3.1 × 3.1 × 2.6 mm package and consumes only 1.8 µA of current, enabling prolonged operation on battery‑powered devices. Operating temperatures range from –40 °C to +85 °C, and the supply voltage spans 1.7 V to 3.6 V.
