DIN 17744 NiCr20CuMo – Corrosion‑Resistant Alloy for Construction Components

The material NiCr20CuMo with the material number 2.4660 is applied in the form of strips, sheets, tubes, bars, wires and forgings for corrosion-resistant construction components. The alloy has an excellent resistance to corrosion in sulphuric, phosphoric and organic acids as well as in aqueous solutions of their salts. The resistance to nitric acid is good as well. As a result of the tailored chemical composition, the alloy also shows excellent resistance to intercrystalline corrosion and stress cracking corrosion. The molybdenum content ensures good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. NiCr20CuMo is applied in a wide range at temperatures of up to about 500 °C. Typical fields of application are e.g. plants for the production of sulphuric acid as well as processes that are based on sulphuric acid, such as, among others, extraction columns in the amino acid production and for the production of drugs, plants for the production of synthetic man-made materials and for the production of food as well as heat exchangers in refineries and for the production of phosphoric and hydrofluoric acid. Processing properties: Formability: good Weldability: satisfactory
