EN 10088-1 Grade X10CrNi18-8 Strain-Hardened Stainless Steel (+C800)

Material X10CrNi18-8 is comparable to X 12 CrNi 17 7 acc. to SEW 400 :1991-02 and DIN 17224 : 1982-02. The austenitic CrNi-steel with a lowered Cr- and Ni-content shows strong solidification during the cold forming process. Application when sufficient corrosion resistance and high strength are requested, such as for beater bars and sheets for vehicle engineering. Predominant application as wire or strip for stainless springs up to approx. 300 °C. operating temperature. At higher temperatures in permanent operation occurs undesired reduction of the work hardening. The steel does not show resistance to intercrystalline corrosion, in delivery condition either.
