EN 10088-1 Grade X8CrNiS18-9 Strain-Hardened Steel (C700) – Superior Corrosion-Resistant Cutting Tool
Material X8CrNiS18-9 an austenitic free cutting steel, is comparable to X 10 CrNiS 18 9 acc. to DIN 17440 : 1985-07. It is used for the production of rust-resistant turning parts in food and dairy industry, in photo, color, oil, soap, paper and textile industry. Machinability is due to the sulphur content considerably increased compared to the usual CrNi-steels. Corrosion resistance is significantly reduced. No resistance to intercrystalline corrosion also in delivery condition. Welding is not common.
