EN 10269 Grade X5CrNi18-10 Strain-Hardened (+C700) – Premium Austenitic Steel for Corrosion‑Resistant Applications
X5CrNi18-10 as a standard type of the austenitic CrNi-steels is comparable to X 5 CrNi 18 10 acc. to DIN 17440-85. It shows high corrosion resistance but no resistance to intercrystalline corrosion in sensitized condition as well as good processability. The steel is suitable for mirror finishing and very well cold formable. Application for welded components in chemical apparatus engineering, in food and milk industry, for household appliances, in breweries, in architecture and vehicle construction as well as for pumps, compressors, fittings. Further application in water and slightly contaminated sewages. Applicable in pressure vessel construction up to 300 °C, above 300 °C subject to authorization. Working temperature: -200 to 550 °C X5CrNi18-10 is used in construction trade for decorative purposes in interior and exterior design, e.g. roof and wall elements, lining, washing facilities, washbasins in toilets, for doors and windows. This material is approved for load-bearing components (Extended approval certificate no. Z-30.44.1 of Institut für Bautechnik Berlin, dated 1 February 1994). In this approval certificate are compiled demands on material, calculation, consruction and monitoring. Strength grades E 225, E355 are common).
