DIN 17440: X12Cr13 Quenched & Tempered Steel for High-Pressure Applications
The material X12Cr13, mat. no. 1.4006, is used for rods (for pressure vessels), forgings and drawn wire acc. DIN 17440 : 1996-09. For the application acc. DIN 17440 : 1985-07 (X 6 Cr 13) resp. acc. DIN EN 10088-1,-2,-3 : 1995-08 (X6Cr13) applies: Application as construction parts in water and steam and mild acting mediums of the food industry, mainly in the quenched and tempered condition (fittings, valve spindles, shafts, pump parts, bolts, screws) with finish-ground or polished surface.
